** spoiler alert ** I thought that this book was ok. I liked reading the three different characters stories though I couldn't help but feel that the character really didn't like the female character. Also, adding in a couple chapters from minor characters towards the end seemed like an odd choice since I felt like it didn't really add anything to the story.

For me there is a question of what the story was. It seemed that the two younger characters should've been struggling to define themselves and what their idea of a normal life was while the older character looked back on his life but the story never seemed to progress to the point where any of the characters did anything or cared about anything. It just started to drag towards the end.

And killing off two of the characters at the end seemed pointless. As I said, the story had started to drag at that point and the characters dying was fairly anti-climatic for me. Horace's struggle was a much more interesting read.

Overall, it was all right but not engrossing or very climatic.
