bookshelves: you-must-read-now

This book is the most important that I've read all year.

The plot - well, it gets confusing. The references to bookies and the world of collections are fascinating, but they can also be confusing, and the additions of certain characters seem jarring at best.

However, the main characters, Trevon and Landry, cinch it. They aren't anyone that I know; they aren't me, they aren't you. They don't interact the way that I do with other people. But the things they say and the moments that they have are so universal that sometimes I have a hard time speaking after re-reading the book.

I have been foisting this book on everyone that I can because the strength behind these two characters has become a strength that I borrow, and their words and deeds have become somehow relevant to my life. I highly reccommend this book as the best of the year.
