Author Jennifer Armentrout has again managed to write a book about the touch of death concept that weaves together elements of fantasy, drama, action and romance in a way that is enticing and incredibly appealing not only to the fans of JLA but also a wide verity of readers.

Ember has been brought back from death by her sister Olivia, but it costs her a price; everything she touches dies. One day she met a dark and alluring stranger; a boy called Hayden, who informs about existence of others with supernatural abilities just like Olivia, Ember and Hayden himself. But someone wants Ember dead, as this time for real.

Ember is broken and confused but a fighter. After her father’s death Ember is left in charge of her family, taking care of her mother who has barricaded herself in an unresponsive exterior and her little sister Olivia who has extraordinary gift of bringing back the dead. She is responsible and admirable, she takes care every small need of her sister that could bring a smile on her lips. She dealt with day by day humiliation in school but she never gave her. JLA has portrayed her frustration that no one in Cromwell family exactly trust her with her power, he fear that she could kill the boy she loves with her one kiss, her anger and her sufferings. I loved Ember’s character. She seems leaped out of pages into real.

Hayden, Hayden….gosh! I so damn love this guy. He is so sweet and caring, concerned and loving. I’m not doing to compare him with Daemon or Aiden (they are out of the world) but I Hayden has his own charm and potential.
I can’t imagine JLA novel without some hot and sizzling romance but here I find the romantic element a little less than her other novels, probably because the touch of death issue lingers in between them.

The plot was fast paces and entertaining, but the amount of suspense is not that much as I expected, somehow predictable. The mystery surrounding the car accident that caused a curiosity in my mind, but as soon as I met the villain, I easily recognized the man behind the mask. I was craving for some more excitement.

Cursed is and wonderful standalone of 2012 and another amazing success of JLA. I enjoyed it page by page, and finished the book in four hours. A highly recommended for all JLA fans, also for those who craves for romance, suspense and action.
