prequel to the maze runner series. Have read them and it's a pretty good YA book trilogy. Hunger Games-ish, but not. This is a story of how it all began. I would read the series first if you're new to it and then this prequel.

**After reading it: It was good. I didn't really like the dreams as a way of showing us his past... it wasn't really believable at all for me. I mean who dreams in chronological order? The author instead could have done a switch between before and present angle instead. In all it was enjoyable still. Not as much as the trilogy was but okay, I felt for the characters.
