A fast-paced read with a few twists, The Thirty-Nine Steps is full of conspiracy, murder, chases, twists and puzzles; one never knows what's coming. It starts off great; Richard Hannay is an independently wealthy, bored Englishman who craves a little excitement to break up his hum drum life. And boy, does he get spades. This book covers everything except romance. As a matter of fact, one would think there is not a female in all of England. Highly amusing; light humor, fast-paced. The exploits are a bit repetitive but a few twists change the pace. The ending leaves you hanging...
