Lyn (The Heartless) Way to act like a bitch. This is getting old.

message 2: by Jessica-Robyn (new)

Jessica-Robyn Worse yet, I read about the shooting and the sources I've seen say it happened in 1998, not 1996. Way to respect history.

message 3: by Mickey (new) - added it

Mickey (I'm A Book Shark) Holy hell. What is wrong with people?! I can't believe she reacted so poorly. I won't be reading her stuff now either. WOW!

Lyn (The Heartless) Jessica-Robyn wrote: "Worse yet, I read about the shooting and the sources I've seen say it happened in 1998, not 1996. Way to respect history."
What a load of crap. It affected her so deeply that she can't remember the damn date. How can she be any more transparent?

I can see why it turned off so many people too, the shooters were only kids, one was just 11 years old. Her transparency is insulting to such a degree that if I had been affected by this I wouldn't have tried to tie it into my YA paranormal-ish book. I don't even understand why she did it. Set the book at a school with a different name!

Kara Oh there's no danger of that, sweetheart. And I'm sure about 20 other people that you offended today will never read your books either. Look at all those lost sales because of your attitude. Keep it up. You are doing SO well.

Lyn (The Heartless) Heather wrote: "I'll say it on here too. Im sick of being bullied because I'm an author. I'm allowed to have opinions. And if you don't like them, don't read my books."
I'll be more than happy to take you up on your offer. It doesn't look like I will be missing out on anything from dodging your "literature".

Lyn (The Heartless) Heather wrote: "And the fact is NONE of you can even realized how kids here were affected by this school shooting."

You keep using "fact", but you have no idea what that word means. You don't for certain if I have a clue how it affected kids.
Grow up. I know perfectly well how a shooting can affect children. You didn't even use the right date. If you remember it so well, you certainly didn't prove it when you called out a reviewer and used the wrong date.

message 10: by Kara (new) - added it

Kara Neither can you apparently since you don't even remember the date it happened correctly.

Also, no one said you couldn't have an opinion. But have some fucking respect for your readers.

message 11: by Blythe (new) - added it

Blythe So you're saying that you're not a bully for calling someone who didn't like your book a douche and people who won't read your books because of that morons?

You don't know the first thing about class, only hypocrisy.

Lyn (The Heartless) Heather wrote: "I have respect for readers. Not bullies who hide behind computers like the idiots you are.

You can cuss all you want, but I won't be the one judging you. If I were you, I'd worry more about getti..."

You are telling Kara to get a life when you keep returning and harassing her? Then you call her an idiot and a moron? You are judging her. I don't think your God appreciates that. Nice double standard there.

message 13: by Kara (new) - added it

Kara Getting right with god? She obviously doesn't know ME very well. *snicker*

Don't call someone a bully if you don't know what it means. You called a friend of mine a douche because you didn't like her review. If anyone is a bully and started this ball rolling, it is YOU.

Hana❀Joy Heather wrote: "I have respect for readers. Not bullies who hide behind computers like the idiots you are.

Being an author takes class and patience, which you obviously don't have.

And what the fuck is this shit about getting with 'God'? Are you kidding me? Why don't you stop your bible thumping for a minute here and use some common sense.

message 15: by Blythe (new) - added it

Blythe You're hypocrisy is just growing more and more by the moment. You do realize you're bullying readers, don't you? In fact, none of this would have happened in the first place if you hadn't bullied readers who didn't like your books.

Hana❀Joy Heather wrote: "Wait, so why am I arguing with a bunch of teenagers? You ARE teenagers, right? Because obviously if you were adults you wouldn't be bullying other people online.

You're such a hypocrite. Why don't you just give it a rest? If you can't handle a respectable review then you have some deep issues, and I recommend that you don't write books. It's that simple.

Lyn (The Heartless) Heather wrote: "Wait, so why am I arguing with a bunch of teenagers? You ARE teenagers, right? Because obviously if you were adults you wouldn't be bullying other people online.

I'm 22 years old. So, obviously, ..."

Nope. Not a teen. Try again. I am pointing out your thread-bare argument. You bully a reviewer, then scream that you are the victim. You call another reviewer a moron and an idiot, then say that God will judge them. If you truly believe that, then where does God stand on you bullying reviewers and calling them names?
You really need a bit more time to mature.

Hana❀Joy Giselle wrote: "WAAAY more than 20 people will put this author on their shit list. But like she said, she doesn't care if nobody reads her books so I guess she got her wish. She can live her dream and write for he..."

Then if she writes for herself, Giselle, then she doesn't have to right to bash reviewers for their opinion on public websites. You're contradicting yourself.

message 19: by Andrea (new) - added it

Andrea Amazing. I get called a name by an author and yet she's the one being bullied. I would be upset by this, but it's too ridiculous to give too much thought to.

message 20: by Blythe (new) - added it

Blythe Don't flatter yourself - I wouldn't do any of that. I mean, I wouldn't want you thinking you're liked.

Bravo, your just so mature, aren't you? Give it up, Heather.

Lyn (The Heartless) Heather wrote: "Thank you so much everybody who blocked me. I got the haters out of the way. So sweet of you guys.

Never followed you on any other account. I have way too much respect to friend someone who acts like you do.
Do everyone a favor and just get off this thread. All of your comments have been flagged, and I would appreciate not to see anyone else bullied by the likes of you.
Go enjoy writing for your own pleasure.

message 23: by Kara (new) - added it

Kara Hana, Giselle is not siding with the author. She's one of my BFF's. Somehow the wires got crossed here.

message 24: by Kara (new) - added it

Kara Heather, get the hell off of my review, please. You are bullying my friends. Bye-bye.

message 25: by Blythe (new) - added it

Blythe Hana, I can assure you that Giselle is in no way siding with the author.

message 26: by Hana❀Joy (last edited Jul 08, 2012 07:45pm) (new)

Hana❀Joy I'm not trying to be malicious, I actually didn't think she was, but if the author writes for herself then she can't magically attack the reviewers.

Lyn (The Heartless) We all need some chocolate and a group hug.
And I was all happy because it has been a quiet week.

Photobucket

message 28: by Kara (new) - added it

Kara I'm so confused. I think we are all trying to say the same thing. She needs to stop writing and put her books in a drawer since she wants to ONLY write for herself, not others.

message 29: by Jessica-Robyn (new)

Jessica-Robyn Wow, I wasn't even part of that and I want a hug. Some authors are scary.

Lyn (The Heartless) Jessica-Robyn wrote: "Wow, I wasn't even part of that and I want a hug. Some authors are scary."

I'm all for feeling up a stranger tonight. Hug?

message 31: by Hana❀Joy (new)

Hana❀Joy Giselle wrote: "I think she can kiss her writing career goodbye before it even started. *shakes head*"

That's the problem though, most people that read her books fangirled over them. But from what I've gathered most of them consist of "OMg, He's so hot!!!1!" But to each their own, I guess.

message 32: by Kara (new) - added it

Kara She either has me blocked or she deleted the profile she was commenting with. Also deleted her blog. And removed her pic from Twitter as well. Strange.

Lyn (The Heartless) Kara wrote: "She either has me blocked or she deleted the profile she was commenting with. Also deleted her blog. And removed her pic from Twitter as well. Strange."

Same here. I thought it was a Goodreads issue.

message 34: by Giselle (new)

Giselle Yeah but now people will see this and Andrea's review as soon as they check out to see if it's a book they may want to read. (Andrea's is #1, this one 2nd, on the community reviews)

message 35: by Blythe (new) - added it

Blythe She deleted her profile - it no longer says "Goodreads author" next to her name under the book's title.

message 36: by Jessica-Robyn (new)

Jessica-Robyn Lyn wrote: "Jessica-Robyn wrote: "Wow, I wasn't even part of that and I want a hug. Some authors are scary."

I'm down for that.

message 37: by Rhiannon (new)

Rhiannon Frater Kara, maybe someone stepped in and drilled sense into her head.

Awesome. I like you.

The Holy Terror Wow. That was a quick flounce. Looks like she deleted her account.

message 40: by Kara (new) - added it

Kara Hugs all around.

And goodness, Rhiannon, I hope so. This was out of control. I'm ready for it all to wrap up so I can go play drunk Word Dynamo. LOL.

I'm afraid to ask!!

The Holy Terror Kara wrote: "She either has me blocked or she deleted the profile she was commenting with. Also deleted her blog. And removed her pic from Twitter as well. Strange."

She was deleting all the covers of her books on here as well.

message 43: by Rhiannon (new)

Rhiannon Frater Kara, I don't know what that is, but it sounds fun!

message 44: by Kara (new) - added it

Kara She did, THT. But now she is quoting bible verses on her Twitter account. The hypocrisy is endless.

LOL Google it. It's a game to increase your vocabulary. Fun to play while buzzing because it gets hard. ;)

Andrea Kara wrote: "She either has me blocked or she deleted the profile she was commenting with. Also deleted her blog. And removed her pic from Twitter as well. Strange."

What?? I did flag her original comment. Wonder if she quit or blocked. Don't really care, but I just want to know if I should look for more comments from her.

message 46: by Blythe (new) - added it

Blythe I think she deleted herself, because she also deleted her blog and Twitter.

Christina (A Reader of Fictions) The Holy Terror wrote: "Kara wrote: "She either has me blocked or she deleted the profile she was commenting with. Also deleted her blog. And removed her pic from Twitter as well. Strange."

Wow. Just wow. This is definitely one of the worst author reactions I've seen to-date.

Drunken Word Dynamo sounds AWESOME.

The Holy Terror Kara wrote: "She did, THT. But now she is quoting bible verses on her Twitter account. The hypocrisy is endless."

Didn't she delete that too? She also deactivated her Facebook author page.

RAGE QUIT ALL THE INTERNETS.

message 49: by Rose (new) - added it

Rose Heather, the more you do engage in this way on these threads as well as condescending the original reviewer in this matter (who I think wrote a very constructive, articulate review), the more you're shooting yourself in the foot with respect to your own PR. Take a step back, breathe, and actually think about what you're doing. Sometimes writers get knee-jerk reactions when they read something about their work that they don't like, but I think you're blowing this astronomically out of proportion, and it's odd to see someone of your age and profession acting in such a way. And it isn't fair to anyone on this thread or in this community, especially the reviewer whom you originally called a douche for speaking her honest opinion.

That reviewer had the right to write her piece and interpretations of the work you wrote. That's one of things about the business that ANY writer should know.

Look, I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't believe anyone condescended you for anything having to do with the shootings - it was more of the method you chose to represent in the context of the book judging from what the original reviewer said in this matter. Maybe if you actually took the time to stop seeing red and consider that, you would realize it's an opinion and not a condescension of you, yourself, and your person, as well as your experiences.

You are NOT your book. And even still, if you can't handle 1 or 2 star reviews of your books, no matter what magnitude they come across, it's probably a good idea if you don't read them, especially if it triggers a reaction as hostile as the way you're acting on this thread among others.

You do NOT have the jurisdiction to tell others how they should feel about your work. Being a writer means allowing others to take your work in for what it offers in any measure, and maybe you're writing for your own enjoyment, but telling others what they should think or feel with regards to your work is not cool. You've written the work, move on from it, even if it isn't taken well by other people, you still have a lot of writing left in you. Keep writing, and leave it at that.

Don't condescend others for speaking their piece on your work. It's not professional, even if you think you're saying your piece to express your opinion - this behavior is NOT professional. And whether you think you are a professional or not, you wrote this book - you're marketing this work. You are selling it for profit. Your behavior is going to speak on some measure for you and your marketing your work. It may not deter some from checking into your work, but in the long run, if it continues in this path, it will have an effect on how you build your rapport with your audience among other factors in the future.

Just two cents.

(I've probably written this all for naught, but I'm putting it out there.)

message 50: by Kara (new) - added it

Kara She quit everything, THT. Twitter is gone now too. She did rage quit. LOL. I have a feeling she won't be gone for long.
