bookshelves: fairy-tale, ya
Read from July 06 to 08, 2012 — I own a copy, read count: 1

I enjoyed this book for the most part. I liked Mina, even if she wasn't the strongest female character but she was strong when she needed to be and I liked her need to protect her family and friends even if she was scared. I know this is part of a series of books so I didn't expect everything to always make since although there were a few times I was so confused as to what was going on I would have liked a little more explanation in this book. Brody was a little 2 dimensional at times and I wish the book hadn't changed perspectives randomly. I like it when books changed characters but I prefer it to have a clear break between perspectives not jumping back in forth from one paragraph to the next.

I love fairy tales and I'm excited to find a series that promises to face down a bunch of them, I kind of feel like I need to go back and read a whole collection of Brother's Grimm tales so I can figure out faster which take Mina is in at any giving time.
