Read from July 08 to 21, 2012

The life of Eliza, a midwestern 16 year old wondering about her future, feels universal but not generic. A child of the Amish, Eliza dreams of the day she can leave on rumspringer, but also fears her wild time will be limited to working in the local town. The introduction of Rachel, a grad student in need of a nanny, into her life provides the dreamed of opportunity. Exploring the world and deciding what you want to do with your life is hard enough for the average 16 year old, but when that decision could result in the permanent loss of your family the stakes are even higher.

There is an interesting web of family relationships, romance, and friendships.

Recommended for readers who enjoy coming of age novels, Amish romance, or realistic YA.
