Ah, The Last Guardian. The endgame of Artemis Fowl Series. Read it all. Here are my impressions.

1. In this installment, Artemis does not look so smart. He grows more sentimental (not EMOTIONAL, mind it)

2. The action is there. The deadlines are there. But not much excitement. I loved the Foaly risking Caballine part and that is it.

3. All the characters are in place. Holly, Mulch, Foaly, Butler and Opal. You will love them once again.

4. Artemis dies finally. And unfortunately gets resurrected via cloning again losing his memory. (This is very frustrating. After every "boot", he forgets everything, particularly about fairies. Strange)

5. Berserkers are "fake". They never get berserk in the whole story. Maybe their "battery" was low after so long a sleep.

6. Opal starts with a devious plan and that is it. Rest of the plan is pretty straight forward.

7. The end of Opal is very satisfying. Artemis' prodigy finally shines bright. (I was counting minutes when that would occur?!!)

8. Resurrection was all good and fine but I think the ending chapter was wrapped up too rapidly. Disappointment. Disappointment.

9. The characters in their elements: Butler, Foaly. The characters which lost some shine: Artemis, Holly.

10. Not much funny dialogues in it. Get ready for the most serious book in the series.

11. I did not shed any tears in the end. I did not feel nostalgic a bit (Okay, I do feel nostalgic. A little. Not much.)

12. There are some nice elements of surprise but no hindsights. It is a wrap up job. No new data revelations about Artemis or any other characters.

13. It is an average book. I was expecting a more polished job from an accomplished writer like Eoin Colfer. But, well, everybody has got their strong moments and weak moments. The plot gets revealed too soon. There is no suspense factor here. Your being fan will hold you to the end. Others might leave it in the middle.
