This is an account of Mark Twain's pleasure cruise from the US to various countries on the Mediterranean and Black Seas, including the Holy Land. It is full of typical Twainian satire on all the countries he visited, the people he met, and the people traveling with him. Quite funny, and informative at the same time. Very interesting to hear Twain's impressions of countries I've visited as they were in the 19th century. My favorite parts were the visit to Tsar Alexander II and the parts about the tour guide Ferguson. My only complaint is that it was long and got monotonous after a while.
