really liked it
read count: Several.

One of those books that I keep re-reading when I'm sappy.

Austen criticizes societal views of marriage and social standing. Women were hard-pressed to become independent through their own means and so must secure a wealthy enough husband. When you're not married you pretty much a burden for your family. Kinda like post-college kids without jobs. Anyways. Marry for money or for love. Or both if you're lucky. Just like Lizzy.
