A retelling of Rumpelstiltskin. My big gripe with this book is how dissatisfied I felt at the end. It isn't that I wanted a "happy" ending, necessarily, but I did want to feel like there was some kind of closure or purpose or . . . something. The story has a lot to recommend it: A unique spin (ha) on the tale, and some wonderfully creative pieces about what the miller's daughter spins on her spinning wheel. This was my favorite part of the book. I wish there had been more of this type of satisfying originality throughout the end of the book. The end of the story pretty much follows along the lines of the story, with a twist that has been happening since the beginning of the book. I guess I really wanted the story to match the intense flavor of the spinning . . .

Elizabeth HI Lia, Once again, I find it satisfying just in reading your reviews, who needs to read the book? Just let Lia read it and then enjoy her review. Sometimes I find myself feeling a little jealous that I don't allow myself more pleasure reading ... so I guess I take pleasure in reading your reviews .... ah at least that....

Thanks for one of the small pleasures in my life....

PS I told Lisa I need you or her to help me find such a nice picture as the two of you have .... for here on Goodreads.
