I realize my low rating makes this seem like it's a bad book.

It's not.

I realize, now, that my main problem with this book is its realism, the fact that the totally crappy things that happen could quite possible happen, and, in some cases, have.

Because The Chocolate War has no triumphant hero. It has no underdog who manages to get the upper-hand. It has no fairy-tale ending where everything goes right. Instead, it highlights the monsters in men in a way that's difficult to deny.

That's really all I've got to say, besides:
- This is one shitty school,
and
- Fuck Archie and Leon, and all those other bastards who contributed.

Rebekah I had to read this book in middle school. Hated how horrible the people in it were then to. Isn't this book PG-13 ish though?

As far as I know books aren't given movie ratings, but sure, I guess it is. Or a little higher.
