This is a good book, tightly written with an engaging story. Carrying several story lines in different time periods is a tricky technique to manage, but Nichol pulls it off.

The only flaw is when Walker sees someone at the top of the stairs and doesn't pursue them - it's out of character because Walker has always tenaciously followed up every lead, so to dismiss this one doesn't make sense. Other than that, it's entertaining.
