Well, after Widow's Web, I had high hopes that this series would be moving in an upward direction for me, but Deadly Sting just wasn't what I was hoping for. Most of the book takes place during one evening, and it was just too much detail after detail of every move that was made for me to enjoy without getting slightly bored. As always, Jennifer Estep's writing was great--there was just too much of it within a short timespan to keep me interested, and like "By A Thread", this read more like a caper to me.

I am still looking forward to the next book because Estep did manage to hook me on one aspect of the storyline, which I won't give away, but for my love of this series to be renewed, I think a new major crime nemesis (besides an underhanded attorney) will have to make their presence known. I'm really not interested in reading about a string of capers if that's what's in store for the remainder of the series.
