One of my 5th gr. students had this book with her and the cover caught my attention. I'm always looking for something different. My student said she really liked the book. A couple of months later I downloaded the book after finishing the Hunger Games trilogy.

I absolutely enjoyed the plot and the characters of Peculiar Children. I like how the author incorporated vintage photographs into the story. Riggs has a good writing style and the story is told in first person. The story will appeal to a wide age range. Parents, there is some adult language in the book. There is some violence, but its not gratuitous. The story should make a great movie and I look forward to the sequel.

I recommend the book to anyone teenage and above.
