Lehrer's book is both thought provoking and full of creative stories ... which is exactly what some of his "quotes" are. After being discredited for misquoting and actually making up quotes from Bob Dylan, Lehrer lost all credibility for this book -- and possibly destroyed his career.

However, despite that, you can garner a lot of discussions based on his findings and examples. I pulled a lot of ideas from this to help in my own writing and other avenues of creativity. From setting aside projects for a space of time before editing or revising, to understanding the importance of meeting a variety of people and taking constructive criticism, this book had the potential of being a great source of ideas.

But from a writer's point of view, I have a hard time getting passed the false quotes. It's unacceptable and horrible of any writer to do. For a reference on this :
