I am a Mom, a Grandma, an animal lover, a gardener, a special Education Teaching assistant, a volunteer and a paddler. My name is Beth and I am a Mormon.
A non Mormon friend passed this book on to me insisting I should read it and would love it. It is not the kind of thing I would normally choose, but felt that becasue Maurie read it and loved it and wanted me to read it, I should, so I did. I am glad I did. It is an inspiring story of faith, perseverance and family love and support. To be honest, if I met Stephanie, either before or after this terrible accident, we probably would not have been friensds. Anyone who thinks that all Mormons fit a mold doesn't know very many of us...However, her strength and courage in the face of such terible adveristiy are extreemly admirable. What a wonderful family she and her husband have, I like to think that in similar circumstances my sisters and in- laws would stand by me with similar non complaining support and that I would also by them. I have seen it in many around me in and out of the Mormon community.
Bottom line, find joy in the journey!
PS Utah Valley is really a place unlike no other....
