Our heroine becomes a member of Britain's SOE and is dropped into France to help the resistance movement, mainly due to her ability to speak French. One of her tasks is to locate a scientist-friend she knew as a child and convince him to leave France. The story is fast-paced and loaded with tension as she learns how to maneuver in Nazi-controlled France. A really wonderful read, filled with foreboding, elation at her successes and fear for her safety. Excellent read!
