Beautiful. Though it didn't quite resonate with me as much as Gilead. It was even slower to pick up any kind of plot, and I was much less interested in Glory's inner life than that of John Ames. But it's a beautiful counterpoint, almost a dark mirror of Gilead, and the extra-tragic dimension it gives to Jack's story was riveting, especially at the book's close. I think it's going to take me a while to shake off the extreme sense of alienation.
