This book is absolutely incredible, and I highly recommend it. It is the story of First Sergeant Daniel Hendrex, who, while deployed in Iraq, befriends a teenage Iraqui boy nicknamed "Steve-O". These two people, coming from opposite sides of the world.... by fate, literally saved one another's lives - while saving countless numbers of others.

This extremely compelling read makes the reader understand the daily obstacles our soldiers and their families face every day. At the same time we learn of the struggles in the eyes of an Iraqui teenager who risks everything to do what is right. And finally, there's the message of love and hope that makes everything worth fighting for.

I highly, highly recommend this book.

Serena My husband and I listened to this book on our commute. It was fantastic.

J.R. On my gosh, Serena, I couldn't agree more - I honestly think that those who take our troops for granted would truly get something out of this....

best wishes for a happy, safe, and healthy holiday season!

Serena to you as well. We are now listening to another Iraq-related audiobook...called Fixing Hell. You should check that out as well.

J.R. Thanks for the tip! :)

Serena You are welcome!
