Homey. I don't know why I love cookbooks so much; I don't do a lot of cooking or baking. Let's face it, I had peanut butter and toast last night for dinner. But, I do love cookbooks, and I enjoyed this one. Can a cookbook be warm and homey? If so, this fit that definition. I liked Currah's stories and ideas. Some of the recipes were painfully simplistic; be warned. A recipe for a root beer float?! However, many of the recipes looked great and, even though it's summer, I can't wait to make her corn chowder. I might start with the plum tart, though ... if I can break away from my beloved toast!
