I had a hard time rating this book. There were parts that I really liked and others that I just liked or thought was ok. Overall I'll give it a 3.5.
Pia is a seemingly immortal girl who was born in a lab hidden in the Amazon rainforest. Over the course of the book she (and probably before since during the first chapter she was already starting to question the tests) starts to question her origin, the tests she had to undergo to become a full-fledged scientist at Little Cam and the outside world. She discovers a hole in the fence surrounding Little Cam and sneaks out literally bumping into a local villager, Eio.
The secret of her existence is slowly (but not surprisingly) unfolded over the course of the book. The real question is, what will Pia do when she discovers it? Will she return to her roots or defy them?
