Taking the original novel and mixing it up in the order Mr. P intended, INVISIBLE MONSTERS is still the piece of fiery weird brilliance that I remembered. Only now, it's actually a truly 'engaging' reading experience, as you flip back and forth around the book - and have to hold chapters to the mirror. And dodge falling confetti and glitter. It's a fun read, a smart one, a gut-punch - still one of the more disturbing books I have ever, ever read. But it is SO smart and SO funny - and SO good that I was just thrilled to read it again.

Happy Birthday, America. Your patron saint of the uncomfortable and of the ennui-of-weird is back. His new additions to this 'first' novel are minimal - but even those show that the man has not lost it. He's still a singular entity in literature, doing his thing until the cows come home. And I'll be right there every time.
