Author employed some rather artsy features to her writing, some worked well and some were trying to hard. The story mirrored a lot of my own childhood experience which certainly colored my perception of the book and made me curious about the author and connect with her writing. It's a work of fiction, but done with a vein of truth running through it (or one really perceptive imagination...guess someone will have to ask the author on that!)

Great debut novel and I look forward to seeing what she does in the future. This book isn't for the faint of heart though. Graphic childhood abuse scenes (seems to be an accidental theme for the random library books I grabbed this week!)
