Read from July 03 to 04, 2012

What a heartbreaking look at what drugs and alcohol can do to an individual, especially someone with such talent and humor and promise. Amy's dad's look at her short life is sometimes difficult reading -- he's not a writer, after all, and his emotions are still very close to the surface -- but the book allows fans a glimpse into the reality of Winehouse's rise and fall, something obviously distorted by the press. I'm glad I read the book, but it has left me a bit melancholy...
