** spoiler alert ** Crux by Julie Reece was an overall good read. It was written very well with few, if any, spelling errors. The plot was completely different than any other book I've ever read, which I liked. I love to read original story lines like this one.
Crux was hard to get into at first. I found myself skipping over a lot of the paragraphs where Jeff describes the myths to Birdie. It does pick up about halfway through the book though. Some of the scenes were a bit confusing. It seemed like Birdie or Grey would suddenly have this new power that they didn't really seem surprised at, which I found odd.
I did come to really enjoy the characters the further along I read. Birdie is a fantastic leading female. Grey is great, he is a real guy. The chemistry between the two leads was electrifying.
Overall, I'd give this book 3 stars because of it's originality and it's great characters. You'll really love Birdie, Kate, Grey and Scud, and root for them all by the end of the book.
