Throughout most of the first half of this novel, I was only only slightly engaged with all of the love entanglements that were occurring. Then suddenly about mid-way through the novel, the characters began to come alive with their enigmatic personalities, and I was hooked! I especially enjoyed the way that Lucas' character developed from being just a good-looking Cassanova, to becoming an astute and more thoughtful person. I thought that the second half of the story offered some hilarious scenes, such as when Hugh first professed his heart to the gorilla. I giggled, as I read several creative and funny similes, such as, "Now she saw who was standing a few feet away and her stomach went DOINNGGG, like a Sumo wrestler crash-landing on a trampoline." By the end of the story, I was heartily laughing out loud and cheering for each character to find satisfaction in these matters of the heart.
