Elise Kavanagh is a hunter, she hunts demons, angels or other supernaturals. But she and James Faulkner, who is her Aspis, as witch bound to a hunter, are retired or at least trying to be retired.

She is now an accountant trying to make a living with her clients being demons and other supernaturals who run businesses. James is making a living owning a dance studio and working with a coven of witches. As she tries to collect what is owed to her for her services, she ends up fighting demons and also encounters an old enemy, one she thought she had killed or at least sent back to hell or where ever demons go.

As she fights and tries to make a few bucks to make rent and buy food, she and James and the coven will meet and fight dead people who are not but acts like zombies before meeting her enemy. There is also a twist at the end of the story that I will not discuss as it would be a spoiler but it let everyone and everything they had been hiding from know where they were.

This was a good story with different elements of the supernatural with new twists on the different elements. If there is one thing which I wished and what lowered it to 4 stars was the fact that she could have given us a little more history of the main characters but other than that a good story which unfortunately some readers will not like.
