The authors managed to capture that 1940s style in their writing, which I enjoyed. The ending was a bit of a letdown; from other reviews, I'd gotten the impression that there was a surprise twist so I kept waiting for it. Other than that, the book was a satisfying diversion. I've never read a book that talked about the aftermath of WWII in a European country, so it was refreshing to read a novel that covered unknown territory.
