it was ok

This book really stretches it when it comes to character development. Characters drastically change from page to page. The apostles seem like pranksters, and Basil, the protagonist, seems like his head is full of helium. I prefer The Robe or Ben Hur. This one really disappointed me. I watched the movie after reading this one, and the transformation to the big screen did not help much--except that watching Simon the Magician plummet to his death was a true cathartic experience!
