The scene opens with a big car accident and Joey 'Cotton-candy hair' jumps out to help with first aid and a cool collected mentality. Right away you love Joey as he works with the little three year old to get information whist simultaneously assessing the unconscious mother/driver in the front seat. Aaron Chase is a Paramedic that arrives on scene and immediately has a lust attraction for Joey that he calls 'Do-gooder'. I love calling people by their job names, like Mr. Chicken or Mrs Veggie at the Market. So this really put me into the story.
Joey has pep in his step. He is a hopeless optimistic and loves helping others. Aaron is his contrast because he had to raise his younger siblings and knows the terrible things that happen in the world and sees it with pessimism. They make an odd couple filled with lust and reluctant feelings that could become more if only they could breach the walls of protection that each has built to protect themselves from being hurt.
Lots of M/M sexy time with a slowly building relationship with 29 and 31 year old hot guys (although they act a lot younger much of the time) because they were both emotionally stagnant for a long time, but in some ways they were lucky to find the right person to open up to. I definitely see their relationship working out and helping them thrive.
Kindle freebie and 264 pages (full sized M/M romance!)
