I received this book as an ARC from Goodreads' First Reads program.

The main characters, 3 young girls seem to be in the 11-12 year old range, so the book is readable for people that age. But the story itself can be read by an adult and enjoyed just as well. What I really liked about this book was that as events unfolded, the reader is able to see things from the points of view of all 3 of the main characters. It adds a welcome dimension to the story of the girls finding themselves in a strange place and trying to save people, with bad guys thrown in for good measure.

The setting and storyline leaves itself open for more adventures of this magical trio, who I would like to read more about. I would heartily recommend this to middle schoolers who like books like Harry Potter and books of that genre, but with a greater emphasis on female characters. Any adult who decides to read this will find it entertaining as well.
