Read in June, 2012 — I own a copy, read count: 1

A moving historical fiction that narrates the experience for Canadians of Japanese descent during WW2 who were displaced and interned. The novel is based on historical documents and letters from the archive, and rawness of those sources come through in the story - all of which come together to show the pain and suffering people experienced during such a racist time. The horrible conditions they endured and uncertainty they faced are very moving.
