If I broke this book into any number of individual pieces: characters, plot, mood, setting, story, style, whatever; I would like them all, but put them all together in this nice little compilation and I just wasn't loving it.

The book reminded me of Wuthering Heights, since I was really expecting to love the evolution of the characters over time (more so in this book, since it was so centered on the kindest character, Larry (rather than Healthcliff ::gag::)), but instead I found it mostly dull and pedantic.

It must just me though, since I feel like I should have loved it.

So even though I didn't really enjoy it, I would still recommend it to people, or at least suggest that they try it out to see if this is more of their flavor.
