I expected more out of this book. Basically, the main character, Molly, is ridden with guilt when she witnesses a child being abducted, does nothing to stop it, and the child, Amanda, winds up dead. Then, years later, another little girl in her new hometown goes missing, and feeling very obligated to be involved in this one's rescue, Molly pursues the task of finding her with no abandon--risking her safety and her marriage. I was certainly intrigued by what looked, in the mid-beginning, like an unexpected plot twist. I was curious while reading, but other than that, not much about this book caught my interest. I did not have much sympathy for the main character, the plot seemed contrived and unrealistic--it seemed to want to be like a Steven King novel but couldn't quite reach it. If you like mysteries in general, this wouldn't be a bad pick. But I am pickier with what I like to read and want to see some more sophisticated character development going on.
