If you love travelogues and Greek mythology, you'll love this book! It's a beautifully juxtaposed tale of feminine identity in the old and young, told through the experiences of a mother and daughter. I particularly enjoyed the way Greek goddesses and the Virgin Mary were integral to their story, how they learned life from women so legendary. This story, though, invoked a longing to be out in the world, traveling to Athens and Crete and back to Paris to discover that "necessary fire" needed to awaken me out of the rat race stupor I find myself in.
