finally...we agree on something! ...if only it had been written by a woman.

What a GREAT idea! A woman writing "Heart of Darkness"... And not just any woman. Say, oh, a Ms. Stephanie Laurens?!? And say, just say, that Ms. Laurens had the good sense to make Kurtz not a boring, stupid man mad with power who becomes a god in the eyes of the natives thereby embodying the dark core and crazy greed of the Western colonialist project, but a fair maiden, who's reputation and innocence are at stake? Oh, and Marlowe, does he have to be such a prude, what with his realizations into the universality of Kurtz's famous last words as they reflect on the decaying state of modern society? Maybe he could be a dashing bodice-ripper, who is hell-bent on tarnishing the reputation of the young Madame Kurtz but ends up falling in love with her? And screw the Congo; let's go for a nice, quiet, English country house. There, much better... That'll teach you to give my wife bagfulls of junk; she's already on number three, and there's no end in sight...

My word...I have half a mind to flag abuse. Liel, I had no idea you were such an ardent admirer of Devil Cynster's!
