This is a chilling story of the kidnapping of a young boy and his parents' efforts to find out what happened. They resort after fourteen months to hiring a private investigator who has his own history of a lost son, which makes finding the adolescent more personal and brings up his demons. Perhaps because it is set in Indianapolis, a city with which I am more familiar than other cities, that makes this more interesting. But, the characters are well-drawn and believable, as well as the action and plot line.
