Maybe because I love ms. Vincent's style or maybe because I love the works she creates which are so different from every other urban fantasy or maybe Vincent is just a great story teller, I loved this book. I believe her character depth is real and that is what draws emit. There are sick and twisted people who love nothing more than power above everything, even family. And there are decent people who do foolish tho gs for family thinking that their choices are the only way to help not because it's true but because in a crisis people don't always see things clearly. Ms. Vincent captures that in her books. It is suspenceful in all the right places and carries just enough hope to be real. I understood her characters emotions both vengeance, hatred, anger, and the need to do nearly anything to protect someone you love. In my opinion, another excellent adult read written by Rachel Vincent!
