I don’t really know what it is about this book but I just didn’t connect with it at all. It is a vampire take on real historical figures in Victorian London. Very similar to Anno Dracula, which I liked much better.

The whole time I read this I felt like I was missing something and it turns out that it is a second book to one published in the 1980’s, so I was in fact missing something. A big something. I would assume that the first book establishes the myth of the vampires and how they function and what they are trying to accomplish, because none of that is here. Instead you have a bunch of good guys doing the same stupid thing over and over, and bad guys who are far too easily vanquished. I didn't like it and I didn't hate it, I just didn't feel anything at all.
