really liked it
bookshelves: first-reads

I received this book through Goodreads as a First Reads giveaway.

Both of the main characters are entertaining and real. They don't resort to the cliches that a lot of police novels use.

Despite liking Sharko, I found myself much more interested in the investigation into the film. There were times when I had to push through the murder investigation just to get back to the film.

I liked how the author brought in real elements of history and science to put syndrome E into perspective. And it is shown to be a global phenomenon. The plausibility is a part of what creates the impact of the novel. It was even presented in a way that was genuinely interesting.

I really enjoyed this novel. I intend to go and read his other books, even if it means hunting them down in French.
