I enjoyed this book very much. The author writes Irish characters extremely well. I cared about all the main characters as well as the supporting ones. The end made me cry. I'll definitely be reading the next book in the series, "The Mammy".
P.S. I looked up the series, and this book is not listed as one of the three in the "Agnes Browne Trilogy". I assume you can start with "The Mammy" since that's the first book in the trilogy, but I suggest reading "The Young Wan" first. It's a prequel of sorts; the story of where Agnes comes from. And, it's good.
