This story in my mind was brilliant, the strong descriptive writing with the scenery as well as the historical authenticity made this book better then may others in the western genera. The story follows the "Kid" though to his adulthood, the plot follow the kids adventures with a scalp hunting gang of thugs and a viscous leader the judge who was more monster than man. The tale show the main character, the kid, and his moral growth though a dark and violent time. This story was dark and violent but it came out to be quite the moral story.
