In this installment of the Breeds series, Jacob and Faith are mates, but Jacob believes he has taken Faith's innocence by mistreating her while they were in the labs. So he runs away from Faith for six years hurting the both of them. Faith on the other hand is bitter she wants only for Jacob to truly claim her. The alpha, Wolfe has decided enough and sent Faith to hunt down Jacob on a fools errand because Faith has become a danger to herself and other Breeds.

The plot in this one was super weak they spent so much time in the apartment you almost forgot about the bad guys who are following them. The story feels like it is mostly about confused feelings from the past. Jacob feels like he is a shell of a man, he thinks he is incapable of love I guess it is supposed to stem from when he thinks he raped his mate six years ago combined with his job as an enforcer so being the genius that he is be believes Faith would have a better life without him in it. Faith on the other hand has suffered the consequences of the mating heat for six years and now she is bitter and feisty about everything. I was at a loss for her reasons as to why she seems to run hot and cold. In some ways I sympathize with Jacob's position he really did not know about the mating heat but he handled things poorly. Faith on the other hand came across as a whiner I mean come on you are such a bad ass why not go after your man and confront him. Instead she complains about coffee, vibrators and beer then she pushes his buttons until he says ..."don't push me Faith. I've reached the limit of my control.." Then they argue and have sex in the end they are both childish and honestly I did not see the connection. At some point I would have appreciated a decent conversation but alas the best part about this book is the set up for Aiden's Charity and we learn about the winged breeds

I would give this one 2 1/2 stars
