The Violinist's Thumb is an engaging and accessible introduction to DNA and the stories that surround it. Most of it was review for me because I have a biology degree and did my undergraduate research in genetics, and I felt that Kean did a good job explaining concepts without dumbing it down too much. I am a sucker for science books filled with interesting anecdotes, and I enjoyed learning about or being reminded of the (sometimes strong) personalities involved with genetic research.

I picked up a free ARC of this book at ALA.
