I think my biggest problem with this book, as with the book before it, is that it's simply too short. The thing is, however, it's not that the story felt incomplete, or rushed, or anything negative like that. Instead, I consider it a sincere compliment to the author -- I'm so invested in Rachel and Kit and Janus and the rest of the players that I'm dying for more as soon as I'm done.

Romance fans do need to understand going in that there is no romance, not even a hint. This is an Urban Fantasy series, not a Paranormal Romance, and while I personally am holding out some hope that Rachel will get a HEA (with Janus if I have my way!), I'm not reading this series for any "romance" and neither should you be.

Instead, I enjoyed this story for the masterful storytelling, thrilling action, and a deep and abiding love of the world Ms. Hoar has created.

An incredibly solid 4.5/5 Stars
