I can not rate this as I had to stop at page 72. Some of you recommended it to me as I loved her other book. Oh well, we can't agree on everything. I was so bored with this book. I did not care for the main character at all. A Vietnamese chef works for Alice B. Toklas and Gertrude Stein in Paris in the 1930s. Great premise and I was so excited but I didn't like it from the beginning. There was very little about the women he worked for which I wanted more of that story and it's all about the chef. The author would jump around quite a bit when she would write about this man's journey before meeting the two women. I didn't like the jumping and I didn't like him.

Judy Bart Aw I'm sorry you didn't like it. I read it a long time ago and so loved it. Maybe today I would feel different. That's why you have to always get the sample first!!!!!

Elyse Rudin I actually bought. Myra also loved it. We can't always agree.
