Snagged a much sought after galley of this at Book Expo. This is also was my introduction to Tropper. I like his writing style and I can see where authors like Matthew Norman can be inspired by his style and subject matter. It was a fast read and I liked the narration and world building but it became a bit sappy for me in parts in regards to Silver. The reader not having seen him in the light that everyone else has may feel like he's being battered on for the duration of the book. The fact that he's blamed for every bad thing in everyone's life seems a bit much to me and too easy to blame him for his absence and everyone else's carelessness. That aside the ending was a bit too convenient for me because Silver was seeking redemption for a long while. I just wish I had seen the contrast more and it didn't become so predictable.
