Most of the stories are good. A few, however, stand out.

"The Bloodbeast" by Diana L. Paxson is a great vampire story set in a viking village. It's wonderful to read a story where the woman isn't ravishing beauiful but is repescted and loved for her intelligence and good sense.

"Madeline" by Barbara Hambly is a very interesting story about two female vampires. "Tumbling Down the Nighttime" by Dean Wesley Smith just might be the scariest one of the collection. Smith makes a very good point about what is horror in the story.
